چکیده

We performed feasibility studies for various single transverse spin measurements that are related to the Sivers effect, transversity and tensor charge, Collins fragmentation function. The processes studied include semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering (SIDIS) where hadrons (pions kaons) were detected in addition scattered DIS lepton. data obtained {\sc pythia}6 geant}4 simulated e+p collisions at 18 GeV on 275 GeV, 100, 10 5 41 use ECCE detector configuration. Single hadron transverse spin asymmetries from COMPASS

Transverse spin physics is an important part of the scientific programme of the COMPASS experiment at CERN. The analysis of the data taken with the target polarized orthogonally to the 160 GeV/c muon beam momentum has allowed to measure for the first time the Collins and Sivers asymmetries of the deuteron. Both for the positive and the negative hadrons produced in semi-inclusive DIS the measure...

Single-spin Transverse Asymmetry in Neutral Pion and Charged Hadron Production at Phenix

The PHENIX experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) has measured the single-spin transverse asymmetry (AN ) for neutral pion and non-identified charged hadron production at xF ∼ 0 over a transverse momentum range of ∼ 0.5 to 5.0 GeV/c from polarized proton-proton interactions at a center of mass energy ( √ s) of 200 GeV. The asymmetries ob...

Single transverse spin asymmetries in inclusive hadron production

A consistent phenomenological approach to the computation of transverse single spin asymmetries in inclusive hadron production is presented, based on the assumed generalization of the QCD factorization theorem to the case in which quark intrinsic motion is taken into account. New k⊥ and spin dependent quark distribution and fragmentation functions are considered: some of them are fixed by fitti...

Single Transverse - Spin Asymmetry in pp ↑ → πX and ep ↑ → πX

where the functions Ga(x1, x2), Eb(x ′ 1, x ′ 2) and Êc(z1, z2) are the twist-3 quantities representing, respectively, the transversely polarized distribution, the unpolarized distribution, and the fragmentation function for the pion. δqa(x) is the transversity distribution in p↑. a, b and c stand for the parton’s species, sum over which is implied. δqa, Eb and Êc are chiral-odd. Corresponding ...
